CDC Safety Guidelines For Businesses & Workplaces During COVID-19
How Accurate is the test?
According to our lab partners, PCR viral testing and serum antibody IgG testing is 97% accurate .
Can you test for antibodies?
Yes, for that you would need to first get screened for viral load using the PCR testing and then you may come into the clinic for a blood draw to send out to our lab partner after we determine that you currently do not have active virus. The IgG antibody takes 7-10 days to become positive after infection.
What do I do if my result is positive?
We strongly recommend that you book a follow-up virtual visit with one of our providers to discuss your results and understand the possible implications of a positive result. While waiting for results and if the results are positive, you must self-isolate.
Will this test work if I have had COVID-19 in the past?
The viral PCR test only checks for active virus, but will not test for prior infection. It accurately detects viral load in your body. The IgG antibody test will indicate prior infection.
Can I use my insurance to pay for the test?
Yes, we accept most insurance plans, but you will need to check with your insurance company to ensure that your policy will be covered. Each plan is different.
What if I have questions about the test results?
Please ask your clinician any questions that you have about the test during your virtual visit. Once your visit is complete and you have received the results, you are welcome to book a follow-up visit with us.
Is my testing data shared with anyone?
Positive results are shared with public health departments. Data collection through the CDC and health departments is an important tool in understanding and fighting the spread of the disease.
